Bradford
White Corporation acquired Niles Steel Tank Company in August
2002. Niles Steel Tank Company, located in Niles, Michigan,
has been manufacturing custom pressure vessels for over 100
years. The synergies that exist and the future opportunities
created by combining Bradford White's 100 years experience with
Niles' 100 years of custom tank fabrication make this acquisition
a gainful endeavor.
Niles
Steel Tank services such industries as the Petrol-Chemical,
Automotive, Paint and Coatings, Boiler, Paper, Brewery, Pharmaceutical,
Refrigeration and Chemicals. Niles Steel Tank specializes in
working with ASME codes and is certified for Section VIII, Div
I (U,UM); Section I (S); and Section IV (HLW). In addition Niles
Steel Tank Company works with the National Board and is R certified.
The company has the ability to build tanks to any specification
from 1 inch to eleven feet in diameter and up to 40 feet in
length/height. Examples of tanks the company manufactures include
Accumulators, Acid Tanks, Expansion Tanks, Hot Water Storage
Tanks, Blow Down Tanks, Flash Tanks, Processing Tanks, Mixing
Tanks, Stainless Tanks and many more.
The recent acquisition will be followed by enhancements to
the Niles plant, including an 11,000 sq. ft. building expansion
that will house a new glass lining furnace capable of processing
vessels up to 84" diameter x 25' long with a new automatic
glassing station for smaller vessels, a Bertsch hydraulic 4-roll
steel roller and the implementation of the SteelShield
glass lining process. SteelShield's patented formula and application
process has a zero defect rate for incredible protection against
the corrosive effects of contents.
