Bradford White is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Copper Brute and Copper Brute II water heaters. The Copper Brute and Copper Brute II units are copper finned tube water heaters designed to fit the needs of your commercial applications that require high input / high volumes of hot water. The newer version of the Copper Brutes will be manufactured in Rochester, New Hampshire by Laars Heating Systems (a wholly owned subsidiary of Bradford White Corporation).

The Copper Brute units feature atmospheric burners, flow switches, aquastats and factory-mounted pumps. Inputs range from 175,000 BTU/hr up to 1,825,000 BTU/hr and thermal efficiencies are as high as 82%. With these heaters, the water connections can be hooked up to either side of the Copper Brute. The heaters are available with a standing pilot or electronic ignition and can be ordered as either indoor or outdoor units.

The Copper Brute II water heaters are low NOx (less than 10 ppm), electronic ignition, fan-assisted units that are also equipped with flow switches, aquastats, and factory-mounted pumps. For ease of installation, the water and gas can be connected to either side of the heater and the pumps are mounted directly on the rear header. In addition, the vent pipe and ducted air pipe can be connected to either the back or the top of the heater. This allows the heater to be stacked in a rack, saving valuable floor space. Inputs range from 500,000 BTU/hr to 1,999,000 BTU/hr and thermal efficiencies are at 85%. The Copper Brute II’s can also be ordered as either indoor or outdoor heaters.

As always, our heaters are manufactured according to ANSI standards (ANSI Z21.10.3) and certified by CSA. In addition, these heaters are designed and constructed in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IV and bear the ASME “H” stamp. Quick Delivery

The Copper Brute and Copper Brute II’s will be available for shipment within 2 to 3 weeks after receipt of order. The units are shipped prepaid and charged FOB shipping point. Pricing has been included in the 2006 Price Book. The Copper Brute and Copper Brute II heaters are not subject to any discounts or the Performance Incentive Program.

Technical Support

Two cross-reference tables between the old and the new heaters and three model number nomenclature diagram have been included for your convenience. The Copper Brute and Copper Brute II heaters will be supported by the Laars Technical Support team that includes Technical Advisors, Application Engineers, Territory Service Managers and Contract Service Centers.

Cross Reference Tables

For each water heater above, the new Brute units can be ordered as an Indoor or Outdoor unit. To designate the location configuration, switch the “‡” character to “I” for Indoor unit and to “E” for Outdoor unit.

As before, the Brute units can be ordered as an LP Gas heater. To do so, switch the “N” to a “P” in any of the above new Brute model numbers.
