3x4 Draft Diverter for Atmospheric Units

Bradford White is excited to inform you that we will be supplying a new draft diverter with some of our residential gas water heaters. Effective immediately, atmospherically vented water heaters with an input rating of 40,000 BTU/hr and less will be equipped with a new 3x4 draft diverter. Previously, these heaters have been supplied with a 3" draft diverter.

The 3x4 draft diverter will allow the heater to be installed with either 3" or 4" vent material. Some locations require 40,000 BTU/hr (input) water heaters to connect to the vent system using 4" venting materials. This new 3x4 draft diverter will provide flexibility for these installations. In addition, the new diverter will have the same leg spacing as the existing draft diverter, allowing it to be installed in the same location as the older design.

The 3x4 draft diverter is a one-piece unit stamped from 22 gauge galvanized steel for durability and resistance to corrosion. As shown on the diagram below, the draft diverter has both a nominal 3" diameter collar and a nominal 4" diameter shoulder. Installers can fit the vent on either diameter to ensure a tight and secure connection.
