Commercial Gas – Ignition Control Module

The Robertshaw and Johnson Controls ignition control modules have been replaced with an ignition control module manufactured by United Technologies (See reverse side of this bulletin for affected models, part numbers and features).

The change was made to the United Technologies module for improved product integrity, a stronger spark output and a quicker main burner ignition. The added benefit to this change is there is no interruption in the sequence of operation or the troubleshooting steps currently in place with the Robertshaw module. The new module is 100% interchangeable, either United Technologies to Robertshaw or Robertshaw to United Technologies. The change from the Johnson Controls G770 to the United Technologies 619A is not as seamless, but is 100% interchangeable. There are some subtle differences in the wiring arrangement.

The change is effective on all models produced on or after December 18, 2002.
